Unfinished Poem

long shadows stretched across the street
sunlight asleep
she doesn't know the difference
between the setting of dusk
and the rise of the moon
dust settles than swirls
in the mixed emotions of twilight's breeze
with clenched fists
memories slip through her fingers
faltering, floating like ruffled feathers
storm screens welcoming the
approaching midnight's air
musical notes
soft, sweetly-spoken melodies
sway with rustling harmonies

(not finished)
