The Elves are Back: The Sixth Day of Christmas 2015

For a few years now, elves from the North Pole have stopped in on our little abode starting at midnight on the first day of Christmas. Leaving little trinkets - gum, Hershey Kisses, notepads etc. - but also leaving behind a letter for the girls to appreciate. The appreciation may not register until further down the road, but I have a feeling each letter represents a seed that will either flourish or dry up all depending on how well it's cared for and applied. The letters, while giving some sense of what goes on up north during this hectic time of year, also share anecdotal notes on life as well as the true meaning of Christmas.

Sixth Day of Christmas:

The 6th Day of December 2015

The tree stood tall
With an array of ornaments
Decorating every branch
From floor to ceiling
No inch in between was left untouched
A pair of puppies I think are my favorite
A little bird with a broken wing
Made me reach for my Kleenex
Airplanes and dolls were in the mix
Even Darth Vader
Although I wonder if he was
Playing Jedi mind tricks
The tree sipped up water so it will last for quite some time
Makes me look forward to coming back
maybe eight times or nine
It’s the most beautiful tree
These elves have ever seen
You did a fabulous job, girls
So much so you put more Christmas spirit
Out into the world.

We love your tree!

Merry Christmas!

Your Elves,

Stocking, Ornament and Ninny Muggins
