The Elves are Back: The Eleventh Day of Christmas 2015

For a few years now, elves from the North Pole have stopped in on our little abode starting at midnight on the first day of Christmas. Leaving little trinkets - gum, Hershey Kisses, notepads etc. - but also leaving behind a letter for the girls to appreciate. The appreciation may not register until further down the road, but I have a feeling each letter represents a seed that will either flourish or dry up all depending on how well it's cared for and applied. The letters, while giving some sense of what goes on up north during this hectic time of year, also share anecdotal notes on life as well as the true meaning of Christmas.

The Eleventh Day of Christmas:

December 11, 2015

Well a Howdy Ho, Ho, Ladies of Cinnamon Street! Happy Friday. Did the week go fast? Only 5 more school days after today before Christmas vacation. So exciting!

Did I hear correctly that you’re going to head up to Penn’s Woods for a couple of days?! I bet you’ll get to see your cousins, uncles, aunts, mimis and your paw-paw. Wow! That’s a lot of family. It must feel good to know so many people love you.

You heard about our crazy night, right? With the reindeer that were flying all over the place? I’ll tell you what, the big guy wasn’t too thrilled at first, but then he just started laughing. I mean really hard. I discovered something…when he laughs his belly really does shake like a bowl full of jelly.

Santa started laughing and then went inside and we heard this hustling and bustling around and all of the sudden we came out with the largest snowball launcher I had ever seen. You know that tank you saw with Dustin? Well, it was bigger than that! Santa started launching snowballs at the reindeer. When he’d hit one, he’d yell, “10 points!” or “50 points!” Every elf got a turn. It was the most fun we had in the North Pole in years. What a night! However, the reindeer are still zipping and zapping. My only concern is if they plan on getting us back. You see, those reindeer had a lot of fiber before they started flying around. I think I may go and make sure my umbrella is easily accessible.

Girls, we love you and think you are the most special and amazing kids. God really made you unique and beautiful and what a gift to the world you are. Have a great Friday and remember to always give thanks for all that you have.

Merry Christmas!

Your Elves,

French Fry, Turtle Dove & Ornament

P.S. Have a great time at your play tonight!
